About Maura Knows (is Wondering & Discovering)
Applied AI, product leadership, and human–AI collaboration — in practice.
👋 I’m Maura Randall — a product leader with 20+ years of experience building platforms and customer experiences at companies like Atlassian, Yahoo!, eBay, and Condé Nast.
This Substack is where I think out loud about what happens when AI meets real work — not in demos or abstractions, but inside teams, products, and systems already delivering value.
My current focus is applied AI product strategy:
translating emerging technology into collaboration patterns people trust, adopt, and actually use.
I’m less interested in building AI in isolation and more focused on integrating it into living systems — teams, workflows, and organizations already in motion — so creativity accelerates instead of stalls.
You’ll see terms like Collaboration Engineering and The Human–AI Loop throughout my writing. These are phrases I’ve coined and use intentionally to describe repeatable patterns I’ve observed and applied across product work, leadership, and hands-on experimentation with AI — not ideas in theory.
Under AIGal (the philosophy) and AICurious (the practice), I document what ethical, transparent human–AI collaboration looks like when treated as a product and leadership problem — not a novelty.
AI didn’t replace my product instincts.
It extended and accelerated them.
What you’ll find here
Applied reflections on product, leadership, and AI in real-world conditions
Comparative frameworks that surface tradeoffs once AI meets reality
Human–AI collaboration patterns that raise the floor without lowering the bar
Occasional life-adjacent insights — because work doesn’t happen in isolation
This is a space for leaders, builders, and teams navigating change without slowing down or losing their judgment.
If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
